TOMZEL Presents New Products at Offsite Meeting of Government of Tomsk Region

Date of publication: 03 March 2021

Tomsk Plant of Electric Drives (TOMZEL) has presented new types of products of its own design as part of the offsite meeting of the government of Tomsk Region, dedicated to the issues of import substitution and technological development.

The meeting was attended by Governor of Tomsk Region Sergey Zhvachkin, representatives of the leading industrial companies of the region and Tomsk Polytechnic University. Director of TOMZEL Oleg Nikiforov made a presentation of two types of innovative products of the plant: a densitometer and an explosion-proof drill.

The new types of TOMZEL products have already been launched into batch production. This year, the plant plans to supply about 22 densitometers to Transneft subsidiaries. The issue of pilot operation of flow densitometer at Gazprom Neft’s facilities was also discussed at the meeting.

The flow liquid transducer, or the flow densitometer, is an analogue of imported equipment for use at oil and petroleum products metering units of oil and gas companies. The high-quality technical characteristics of the densitometer allow to replace the equipment which has reached the end of its standard service life without additional material and operating expenses.  Among the competitive advantages of TOMZEL’s densitometer, in addition to its price, is the ability to operate in the temperature range from -45 to + 60 °C, the absence of the need for daily maintenance and resistance to mechanical stress.

The explosion-proof drill is also a unique development of the plant's specialists. Its design provides for the ability to change accumulator batteries in an explosive area, the ability to work in various climatic conditions.  The use of a lithium iron phosphate battery in the electric drill allows for the use of the electric drill at ambient temperatures up to minus 40 °C.  These characteristics of the new equipment ensure a high level of industrial safety during scheduled and emergency recovery works at hazardous operating facilities in the oil and gas sector.

For reference:

TOMZEL (Transneft Western Siberia subsidiary) was founded in 1998. The main business area of the plant is the development, production and maintenance of specialised products for fuel and energy sector companies. The plant includes 5 production buildings, the total area of which is about 10 thousand m2. The main partners of TOMZEL are Transneft subsidiaries, as well as other leading companies of Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union.
